Peter Fluck

Peter Fluck attended Cambridge School of Art from 1957 to 1961. Moving to London in 1962 he started his working career as an illustrator and caricaturist.

1975 saw the creation of a partnership with a friend and fellow student from Cambridge, Roger Law. Working as “Luck and Flaw” they became well known for their three dimensional caricatures of the world's famous unpleasant, dangerous and unpopular celebrities. Commissioned by international newspaper, magazine and book publishers their joint career flourished. In 1980 they co-founded the satirical puppet programme “Spitting Image”.

After 12 years and 18 series the programme was assigned to the old folks' home of TV archives.

Since retiring from puppets, Fluck has devoted his time and energies to sculpture. One direction has been the design and making of kinetic pieces. A collaboration with Dr Tony Myatt , director of the Music Research Centre at the University of York resulted in “Chaotic Constructions”. First shown at the St Ives Tate for three months in 1997, it then travelled to Edinburgh, Corsica, Halifax, Hong Kong and London.

Now living on the Lizard in Cornwall, he is currently developing skills as a ceramicist in order to be able to make work that can reflect Cornwall`s rich coastal environment.
