My work represents a journey of personal exploration into the relationships between man and nature.

The symbolism of the fish often finds its way in to my work. I see the fish as an icon of strength in nature, as they also do in many different cultures. The fish is often used in association with cycles and infinity. I am especially interested in the koi carp, which in Japanese culture is greatly respected because of the fable, which states that, if the koi carp is strong enough to swim up the fastest river, when reaching the top will turn into a dragon. Another reoccurring theme in my work is positivity and negativity; this is used to represent opposites, dualities, cycles and the Jungian idea of shadows. Many of these ideas influence the forms and finishes used within my work.
