My photographic process takes place during the night, combined with an ambitious lighting technique, which takes so long to build a correct exposure that I may sometimes spend up to twelve hours on a single image. Each image is subject to a detailed exploration throughout the day and night. This helps me gain a deeper understanding of my surroundings.
As the light begins to fade, a location changes; it becomes more intimidating; natural sounds made by the wind passing through and around feel much more threatening. Animal noise, rustling in bushes, the sound of sheet metal crashing in the wind through the night becomes amplified by a lack of vision.
By the use of hunting lamps and generated powered lighting I hand paint my subject with light. Combining this with a long exposure allows me to capture my subject in a unique way.
