Gill Turner
During the course of Gill's studies
at Falmouth College, her work has gradually evolved into a more
contemporary style. Gill's painting is narrative, it evolves both
adult and childhood experiences and recalls her own memories of
an urban childhood. She uses symbols, memory and distortion to create
her own personal cityscapes and environments. Both darker and moments
and humorous ones are present, at times co-existing together. As
you look at Gills paintings you may find that all is not what it
at first seems.
Gill's influences are mainly figurative
painters and include Marc Chagall, Carel Weight, Jock McFayden,
Michael Andrews and L.S. Lowry
