Dorothy Hanna
Originally from Northern Ireland,
Dorothy Hanna moved to Cornwall after many years in London. Her
abstract images, which are all oil on paper, have been built up
over a long period of time, layer after layer. Paint is laid down
and partially lifted again and again until the image finally emerges.
Dorothy is particularly interested in what remains hidden and what
is revealed through this process. Her work is not given titles so
as to allow the viewer to form their own associations and responses
to what they see.
