Cheryl Harrison

My work is an eclectic result of looking for beauty in the ordinary, or the overlooked moments within my surroundings. From this, I construct a visual language, in which there are no rules. They are paintings that start some place and end when least expected. Some may say this is a very ‘up in the air' way to paint and I am the first to admit, that this approach is anything other than straight forward, but I believe that is the ingredient that gives the work it's own personality, and the thing that keeps my coming back for more.

I have long given up trying to figure out the whole artistic process, and I have never wanted to turn it into a science. I'm just glad that when I pick up a brush, I'm doing what I love and (touch wood) my Muse always seems to find me.
