Caroline Rault Caroline Rault was born in 1955 in Mauritius; her Father was Mauritian and her mother was English. Her already mixed heritage was complicated by moving backwards and forwards to Mauritius and living in Italy, Senegal and London. She has traveled in Africa, Europe, North America and Mexico and studied French and African studies at Sussex University. Her work is inspired by the rich cultural melange of Mauritius.
