Angela Holyoak
For many years I have viewed the coastline from Zennor to St Just with tremendous awe and great fondness, as has been the case with generations of artists. It has a totally different energy from its Irish Atlantic counterpart.
During a recent and prolonged winter retreat on Cape Cornwall, I was in a position to observe the effects of a southwesterly force nine gale thundering into the granite shoreline of Priest's Cove. This was to contrast deeply with the reflective light and the absolute purity of a week of heavenly sunsets as the wind shifted round to the north. This made a huge impression on the Cape's spirituality, and on my palette.
The Atlantic dusk beckons nightfall with the far off lights of vessels and a lighthouse or two.
